For many years we've pioneered adventurous and also more gentle guided walks along spectacular coastlines, on remote off-shore islands, in various stunning mountains worldwide and deep inland - bringing natural history and culture alive, connecting with nature and with people.

Have a look at what we still have on offer - there's bound to be something to suit you, but spaces are now VERY very limited for this year.

Next year in June (June 24th - July 3rd), we are planning an exciting 10 day new hiking and exploring adventure in Italy's DOLOMITES mountains... with opportuniuty to extend your visit to see one of the world's most beautiful cities - Venice.  Stay tuned for further information!

End of Sept - last double room going for our popular Picos de Europa (Spain) hiking trip....

Below is a selection of some of our walking tours ... for others, follow the Menu links.

Morocco Trek

Jebel Sarhro Range, Anti Atlas Mountains, South Eastern Morocco

2011 dates:   April 2nd - 16th. 15 days/14 nights £895. Moroccan mountains

Every Spring in southern Morocco, we take a group from Marrakech up over the High Atlas Mountains, to a region about a day's drive south east, towards The Sahara Desert near Zagora. It is an area of highish mountains and canyons called THE JEBEL SARHRO, lying sandwiched between the Sahara Desert and the High Atlas. The Jebel Sarhro region enjoys long warm dry sunny days and brightly star-lit nights.

During the ensuing trek through these stunning mountains and up The Valley of The Roses, we have the ground support of my good Berber friend, Slimane Baadoud. Using his local knowledge and comprehensive equipment, we walk over and through this amazing range of mountains, valleys and gorges - camping as we go - and along the way coming into contact with remote villagers and nomads. The actual trek is for 10 days (plus two days traversing the Atlas Mountains) and an additional 3 hotel nights in Marrakech. What's more, at the end of that bit, we usually travel to Essaouira (optional) for a few days rest on the Atlantic Coast.

Tuscany and Dolomites - Italy

SOUTHERN TUSCANY May 6-15, 2011.

DOLOMITES June 24-3 July, 2011 (details to be announced)

Hotel, castle and Agriturismo!  Spectacular…

Rocca_D'Orcia.jpg

With Our tour will take place inland and along the West Coast of Central Italy, in the Southern part of Tuscany. We shall stay in three very different accommodations during this tour: the first four nights will be in the delightful seaside town of Porto Santo Stefano on Monte Argentario on the coast, then the next two nights will be in an authentic farm agriturismo near the beautiful medieval hilltop town of Montalcino, followed by the last three nights in an almost 1000 year old magical castle in medieval Sorano, situated deep in the old Tufa areas of the Etruscans.

This tour is fully comprehensive, with really atmospheric accommodation, fine Italian dining and good local wines all included. Experience the very best of Tuscany in the company of Martin and our good friend Goffredo Filibeck, Professor of Botany at Viterbo University, as our local English speaking guide. You will have the best possible introduction to Tuscany.

Spain - Picos de Europa Mountains

Asturias and Cantabria - mid northern Spain
Close to The Bay of Biscay coastline.

P1010576.JPG

2010 dates, September 25th - October 4th.
Just one double room left...
10 days/9 nights. 1050 Euros

The incredible Picos de Europa Mountains are situated about 110 km southwest of Santander. The main ranges are of white/pink limestone and are very abrupt - somewhat similar to The Dolomites in Italy. High peaks (up to 2650m) are interspersed with deep beech, chestnut and oak-forested valleys, with lovely little villages, where centuries old farming methods are still practised.

Here, you can find (and hike through) one of the deepest gorges in the world - deeper even than The Grand Canyon! Nearby are other spectacular ranges (Cantabrian Mountains) within easy striking distance where we can also hike and experience unusual landscapes of conglomerate and schist, as well as limestone.
